On some trails in the Auburn SRA, standard bicycles, mountain bikes, and Class 1 electric bicycles (e-bikes) are permitted.
Only pedal-assist motors are available on Class 1 e-bikes, and they stop offering assistance once a speed limit of 20 MPH is met. In the Auburn SRA, Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes are only permitted on public roads; they are not permitted on any trails. The maximum cycling speed allowed on all paths in Auburn State Recreation Area is 15 mph, although cyclists are only allowed to go 5 mph while passing pedestrians, horses, and when coming up on blind turns.
